I am a trauma therapist that specializes in Complex Trauma and also works well with teenagers. I enjoy working with clients ages 12 and above. Are you or your teenager resistant to counseling? Allow me the opportunity to work with you in redefining your counseling experience. I provide a judgement free space for you that promotes healing and wellness. It is my desire to walk along side you as you journey from a “stuck” place to one of healing and freedom.
As a trauma therapist I use a culturally sensitive client centered approach. I am certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work well with adolescents, teenagers and adults using EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a variety of other treatment models.
If you have any questions or concerns about starting therapy please contact me and I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Monica Giovan
Licensed Professional Counselor, LCMHC
It can be difficult to make the transition into therapy. I work with clients to identify and change areas of life that are not working. That can range from clinically significant anxiety and/or depression, life changes, issues surrounding infertility, prenatal/perinatal/postpartum concerns, congenital concerns, parenting skills, childhood trauma, and adjustment problems. I work with teens and adults, as for younger kids- I will work with their parents. Therapy involves hard work, that is why it’s difficult to initiate, and why I want to be there to support you.
I will let you know what to expect, listen, and then we will make a plan together. I will coach you through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, as well as other clinical tools based on your specific goals, to start making changes on behaviors, thoughts, and your feelings.
I want to be there to support you in your journey if you are thinking about seeking therapy. You deserve to reach your goals and change what needs to be changed in your life.
